These are actually from the past couple of days. I was busy around the house yesterday and didn't have time to blog.
- From the Bowling Green Sentinel Tribune: An article about game strategies expected to be used by both Bowling Green and Mizzou in today's game. Mizzou best watch for BGSU's Freddie Barnes who had 15 catches for 157 yards and two scores against Troy last week.
- From Mike DeArmond of the KC Star: Mizzou needs to improve its running game. So does BGSU, I might add.
- St. Louis Post-Dispatch: fighting a letdown a key for Mizzou.
- The Columbia Daily Tribune's Dave Matter, the Mizzou football beat writer extraordinaire, answers readers questions. Here is a post on some team stats for both MU and BGSU.
Fighting a letdown is easier said than done. There is still the feeling that MAC teams are cupcakes, but Mizzou has lost the last two to BGSU. Yes, that was when Gary Pinkel was new to Mizzou, the Mizzou talent level was bad, and BGSU had a coach named Urban Meyer at the helm (what has he done lately, eh?).
But MAC teams can play some ball. Toledo handed Colorado their heads on a plate last night. I know CU is simply horrid right now. They are slow, have a D2 quarterback at the helm of their offense, and are coached by a man who looks beaten down in Dan Hawkins. But Toledo whupped up on them like good teams should whup up on bad teams. Had they not let up on defense in the third quarter, the whupping would have been even worse.
- Here's some more from Dave Matter on BGSU's recent success against Mizzou. Did I say MAC teams are pretty good?
- Here's Matter's piece on BGSU coach Dave Clawson. Clawson looks to continue reviving his career at BGSU.
- Matter's quick notes for today's game.
