Mike DeArmond of the KC Star: "Defense Looks Tough Under Steckel"
Coach Pinkel likes to say that we don't want to build monuments to players after a few games. So it should be with players. Like the rest of Tiger Nation, I am also very impressed with what I saw Saturday
Brian Burwell of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Top 25 Sets Up a Lot of Drama.
Brian points out that Mizzou's appearance so soon in the AP top 25 shows the respect it has earned over the past few years from the media. In past years, it would have taken more than one week to earn a spot in the top 25. That's a great point.
Tom Timmerman of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Mizzou revives the quarterback sneak
This is a "notebook" story. Mizzou got under center once on Saturday and snuck it for a first down. Pinkel says they'll do it again in the future. But I hope he realizes that he's going to have to run other plays with the QB under center if he wants the sneak to work. He's a first-rate coach and I'm sure he does. Just sayin'.
It also contains information about De'Vion Moore's injury and Dan Hoch's injury. There's also a blurb on what the Tigers hope to see in attendance: 70,000 fans. For the record, I follow Sean Weatherspoon on Twitter at http://twitter.com/SeanWSpoon12, and he's been tweeting that hope too.
That's all for now since I've got a doctor's appointment. I'll add more links from today when I find them.
Update. It's not a morning link, but here is a Dave Matter piece on Danario Alexander.
Here is Jack Carle from the Bowling Green, Ohio Sentinel-Tribune on the upcoming week's game pitting Bowling Green and Mizzou.
