It seems that I and many others have encountered a problem associated with using Firefox to access Yahoo! email messages. When I try to click on a message, I am immediately redirected to some website called justathousandwords. I have no idea what is causing this, but I found that clicking on tools/options/content and unchecking the "enable Javascript" checkbox solves the problem. It seems that a bunch of other people are having the same problem.
I've also found that I don't have access to the "compose post" tab in typepad, only the "edit html" tab. I have no idea if these two problems are related, but I don't have either issue when I use Yahoo!
What is going on?
Update: I only have these problems on Firefox on one computer, the computer that my family used all day to check emails. My youngest also used it to play some online games. I didn't have any problem until late this afternoon CDT. I did open an email this afternoon saying I had an ecard from Hallmark.com, but I did not click on any link since I know of the problems associated with opening ecards.
Update 2: Ok. I figured out that the reason I couldn't access "compose post" in typepad is because I deselcted "enable javascript" in Firefox. I still don't know what's going on with Yahoo!
Update 3: Whatever the problem was, it seems to have been fixed. I rechecked the enable javascript box in Firefox and was able to view emails in Yahoo! with no problem.
Ever since I upgraded one of my computers to FF, I occasionally get an error message saying something about a script no longer working. This is usually after the session has been going for several hours.
On the other hand, I've had no problems with FF 2.x, which I have on the other computer. I think I'll hold off on upgrading on that one. Oddly enough, I even got an automatic update to a new version of 2.x AFTER version 3 was released. Evidently I don't understand the distribution model.
