Anderson’s up-tempo system makes it important to use more players to keep everyone fresh. Nine players are averaging at least 13 minutes - only five played that many minutes last season - and the coach hasn’t noticed much disparity in skill level among the team’s top 10 or 11 guys.
But the fact that the Tigers are playing more players than before isn’t the only reason for the improved balance.
"If they try to take away one or two players, then some other people are able to step up," junior guard Jason Horton said. "... Now people will be more comfortable doing that because they’ve done it before."
