Ants have been visiting the new Powerhouse, so I called a bug guy to come and spray around our house and, in the meantime I learned a lesson in pricing that didn't take long to sink in.
The bug guy guarantees his work and will come back if today's treatment does not do the job during the guarantee time. He said that he charges a higher rate to spray houses where there are carpenter ants because of the difficulty in finding their nests. He said he expects to come back sometime in the next time per his guarantee.
In other words, work that involves more sacrifice (or is likely to do so, in this case) by the person providing the service is likely to be more costly to the person receiving it. Since the bug guy is more likely to have to return to the new Powerhouse, he charged me accordingly.
Like lunch, guarantees are not free either.
