Dang!
When Columbia College student Amy Moeller and her classmates saw the speed limit signs sailing through the air in front of the bus they were traveling in, that was the moment everyone knew they were in trouble, she said.
Moeller and 12 others were injured while returning from an art club field trip to the Chicago Art Institute when their bus crossed paths with what appeared to be a tornado between 9:30 and 10 p.m. Sunday night on U.S. 63 near the Route NN exit near Renick.
“It lifted us up in the air. It felt like something took hold of us,” Moeller said. “Then it landed on the driver’s side and slid like that for a while. It all went so fast, but people who saw it say it rolled three times.”
