The FDA recently reviewed restrictions on silicone breast implants. Here and here are articles on the subject.
One of the groups that argued against the lifting of the restrictions on the implants, curiously, is the National Organization for Women. From a recent Wall Street Journal column***:
In any case, we hope the FDA isn't swayed by last week's political hijinks, such as anti-implant protesters sporting T-shirts that say "100% all natural"; and demonstrations against implants from groups like the National Organization of Women, which claims to support a woman's right to control her body. At least most of the time.
Curious, indeed.
